Baptism is the entry into the Christian life. Baptized with water and in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, we are initiated in the life of the Holy Spirit and union with Jesus Christ. It incorporates into Christ, making us members of his Church. Baptism is regenerative and transformative, making us born again by dying our old life under Adam and born spiritually anew in the life of Christ (John 3:3,5, Romans 6:3-4).
Through our baptism, all personal sins are forgiven and the stain of original sin is wiped away. In this sacrament we receive the sanctifying grace of our initial justification. We are made adopted sons and daughters of our heavenly Father and receive the gift of the Holy Spirit in our souls (Acts 2:38). Those who are baptized are anointed into the three-fold mission of Christ: Priest, Prophet, King. As Catholics, we believe that baptism is necessary for salvation.

If your child is over the age of seven, go to the Children's Becoming Catholic page here.
If you are an adult and seeking to be baptized into the Catholic Church, we would be honored to help you prepare for this through the process of Becoming Catholic (called OCIA). You can find info about that here.
