Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

This ministry participates in Masses when there are insufficient Ordinary Ministers (priests and deacons) to assist in the distribution of Communion during Mass; it assists the priests in bringing Communion to the sick or elderly. To be an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion you must meet the following requirements:

• Have a profound belief and respect for the presence of Christ in the Eucharist.
• Have a sense of commitment and responsibility to this ministry.
• Be 18 years or older or a high school senior, registered at St. Helen with no impediments.
• If married, your marriage must be witnessed in the Catholic Church.
• All extraordinary ministers will need to be approved by the pastor and commissioned by the Bishop.
